בתגובה על מאמר המערכת "הלבנה אפלה" ("הארץ", 27.2) תודה ל"הארץ" על המאמר המעלה על נס את מאבק הכפר בילעין. הוא קובע בצדק ש"פעילי השלום הישראלים והבינלאומיים, שחרף אלימות השוטרים מתייצבים מדי שבוע סמוך לבילעין כדי להפגין נגד תוואי הגדר, ראויים אף הם להערכה". מן הראוי לציין במיוחד את הפעילים והפעילות הצעירים מ"אנרכיסטים נגד הגדר", המובילה את הפעולה הזאת בעקשנות, בהתמדה ובמסירות זה שנתיים, יחד עם אנשי הכפר ופעילי שאר התנועות הישראליות והבינלאומיות. הם עומדים בידיים ריקות מול רימוני גז מדמיע, כדורי גומי, רימוני-הלם וסילוני מים באומץ לב נדיר. אני רואה את חשיבות המאבק בארבעה מישורים: (א) פעולה נגד עוול משווע, הברור לכל מי שהיה במקום (ב) משיכת תשומת-לב הציבור והתקשורת למטרתה האמיתית של החומה/הגדר, שכולה מכשיר של גזל וסיפוח (ג) ההוכחה שישראלים ופלשתינאים יכולים לשתף פעולה, להידבר, לצעוד ביחד ולעמוד ביחד גם מול אלימות ברוטלית (ד) הפגנת כוחה של פעולה בלתי-אלימה. אורי אבנרי תל-אביב

צה"ל: הפלסטיני שנעצר בבילעין יידה אבנים על החיילים מצה"ל נמסר בתגובה לדיווח הפלסטיני על מעצרו של הפלסטיני בבילעין כי "בתום הפגנה שנערכה במקום החלו פלסטינים לידות אבנים לעבר הכוחות. כוח של מג"ב עצר צעיר פלסטיני החשוד כי יידה אבנים והוא הועבר להמשך חקירה". מוקדם יותר דיווחו מקורות פלסטינים כי צה"ל פשט על הכפר וכי פלסטיני שצילם את פשיטת הכוחות נעצר על ידי חיילי צה"ל ומשמר הגבול.
