The Guardian, June 16, 2006: "Investigation undermines military claim that Israeli shells could not have been responsible for death of girl's family". Having to choose between the IOF and The Guardian, I trust the latter.

Haaretz, June 15, 2006: A Human Rights Watch expert claims that the IOF lies. Since I know both the IOF and HRW, I tend to trust the latter.

June, 14, 2006, 13:10: Brigadier General Miri Regev, IOF spokesperson on Israel Radio interview (hysterically): "... we are more than absolutely sure that the Palestinian family on the Gaza beach was not injured by an Israeli shell ...".
A (free) piece of advice: Ms. Regev, perhaps you failed to notice that even in his despicable statement, the Israeli chief-of-staff did not exclude the possibility of an old Israeli shell! I know, Ms. Regev, that you get paid to lie. Try not to make it so blatantly. Furthermore, your invoking the testimony of the IOF chief medical officer is not very helpful. His reputation for adherence to the truth has not reached me [JK].

Haaretz, June 14, 2006: It takes Shlomi Eldar to ask the obvious question, that the absolutely stupid IOF generals couldn't figure out.

Haaretz, June 13, 2006: Another war crime. Nine dead. Seven of them, including two children, certainly innocent.

Ghalia family lost six members in shelling, in 2005 they lost four
By The Associated Press

The hardest hit in the Israel Defense Forces artillery strike on a Gaza beach Friday was the Ghalia family, which lost six members, among them the father, one of his two wives, an infant boy and an 18-month-old girl.

Less than two years ago, four members of the family were killed when IDF shell hit the family farm in the northern Gaza town of Beit Lahia.

Ynet, June 10, 2006: Demonstration in front of the Chief-of-Staff's home, announcing: "there is a murder in the neighborhood".

Ynet, June 10, 2006: "Amir Peretz is a war criminal".

Haaretz, June 11, 2006: The war criminals in a despicable attempt to blame the Palestinians.

Haaretz, June 11, 2006: "It was self-evident that massive artillery shelling would lead to killing of civilians".

Haaretz, June 10, 2006.

Some of the many earlier assasinations of civilians in the Gaza strip by the IOF:

Haaretz, June 11, 2006: The fate of the surviving victims of a previous war crime of the Israeli Air Force [Principal War Criminal: General Eliezer Shkedi].

Haaretz, June 11, 2006: The IOF assasinated 14 civilians in the Gaza strip since the end of March 2006.

BBC News, September 27, 2004: Nine-year-old Raghda al-Assar killed by Israeli fire while sitting at her school desk in the Gaza Strip - the fourth child hit in similar circumstances in 18 months.

I told my mum I couldn't see. She said that the lights had gone out in the whole world

Comment: The Israeli generals are now busy generating evidence that the Gaza massacre was caused by a Palestinian device. Whether they suceed or not does not change the fact that indiscriminate artillery shelling is a war crime. A siege on a whole civilian population is a war crime.
